LAS VEGAS – Advantage 2017 – Oct. 19, 2017 – Sage Intacct, the innovation and customer satisfaction leader in cloud financial management software, today announced the winners of its 2017 Sage Intacct Customer Success Awards during the keynote of Advantage 2017, taking place this week in Las Vegas. Rob Reid, EVP and Managing Director of Sage Intacct, presented this year’s Customer Success Awards to six organizations: DFO, Legacy Healthcare Services, Meals on Wheels America, Publisher Circulation Fulfillment, Roman Catholic Diocese of Portland, and Workiva.

Collectively, these award winners have used Sage Intacct to deliver incredible benefits to their business, such as: increasing efficiency by as much as 60%, eliminating hundreds of hours of manual work on reporting and consolidations, saving hundreds of thousands of dollars in reduced staffing needs, and achieving a 5X return on investment. In addition, Sage Intacct helped these organizations transform their finance teams to take a leadership role in delivering the financial and operational insights needed for strategic business decision making.

The Sage Intacct Customer Success Awards recognize organizations that use Sage Intacct to improve both business and financial operations, as well as grow their bottom line. Sage Intacct received a record number of entries, and the six award winners announced today were selected following a thorough evaluation of each candidate’s business impact.

Here is a closer look at the results achieved by this year’s award winners:

DFO

DFO is a family office for a high net worth individual, including both the management of current endeavors and long-term wealth planning. Prior to Sage Intacct, DFO struggled with segregated financial information spread across more than 80 entities, each using separate instances of QuickBooks. This made ad hoc reporting requests time consuming and labor intensive, and any consolidated reporting involved lengthy manual processes. DFO worked with CrossCountry Consulting to move its financials to the cloud with Sage Intacct to gain a comprehensive solution that offers streamlined access to information.

Legacy Healthcare Services

Legacy Healthcare Services provides senior care at more than 250 outpatient clinics across 11 states and Washington, D.C. Legacy Healthcare worked with Massey Consulting to replace its on-premises Microsoft Dynamics GP financial system with Sage Intacct. Previously, simple tasks like generating MICR check printing, ACH payments to vendors, and attaching documents to transactions were not possible, required a third-party solution, or needed very time-consuming and manual work-arounds. Legacy Healthcare was also producing nearly 300 different financial reports each month – mostly in Excel or by hand. With Sage Intacct, Legacy has streamlined processes, while simplifying reporting and gaining deeper insights into the business.

Meals on Wheels America

Meals on Wheels America is the largest national association representing senior nutrition programs across the country. Meals on Wheels was previously using QuickBooks but was very limited by the system’s grant management capabilities. Tracking of restricted grant funds was very labor intensive, as funds had to be tracked outside the financial system in Excel and then reconciled to the general ledger on a monthly basis. Meals on Wheels switched to Sage Intacct with the help of Raffa, enabling the finance team to streamline and automate grant fund tracking, as well as several other business processes.

  • Estimated 3X-4X improvement in forecasting process time and accuracy

  • Doubled revenue since 2013 with only 25% increase in finance team staffing

“The ability to integrate Sage Intacct with other systems that we currently use was a game changer for our close process and allowed us to automate steps and shave a full week off our monthly close,” said Don Miller, CFO at Meals on Wheels America. “We’ve also improved real-time visibility into our performance. We're now course correcting all the time and we're only able to do that because of the fact that we're on Sage Intacct. We've grown nearly 20% every year since 2013, and the complexity of our business has increased as well. Publishers Circulation Fulfillment (PCF)

PCF has provided distribution solutions to the print media industry for more than 30 years and recently began expanding into logistics. Previously, PCF was spending tens of thousands of dollars per month to host and maintain an on-premises SAP system that was overly customized, outdated, and cumbersome. Customer invoices, which needed to be compiled and generated weekly, required a considerable amount of manual manipulation. PCF worked with Compudata to switch to cloud financial management from Sage Intacct, which helped them streamline processes and improved business insights.

Key results with Sage Intacct include:

  • Decreased client billing/invoicing time by 50%
  • More than 20% improvement in staff efficiency
  • Shortened month-end close process by 20%
  • Saving hundreds of thousands of dollars yearly versus previous solution

“Sage Intacct has helped us streamline our business process including functional AR and client billing – we've basically cut that processing time in half. In our close process we're able to pull reports quickly and get information in a few seconds,” said Jerry Hosza, Director of Accounting and Financial Reporting at PCF. “Our business changes very quickly and our profit margins are very susceptible to changes, so we have to be on top of everything. With our previous system, it would take an hour to run a report before we could do anything else in the system. Now we have data in real-time at our fingertips, so we can focus our efforts on analyzing that data and making more accurate forecasts for the next month or even the next year.”

Roman Catholic Diocese of Portland

The Roman Catholic Diocese provides ministry throughout the state of Maine, with 108 entities including parishes, schools, cemeteries, the Catholic Foundation of Maine, and much more. Prior to Sage Intacct, the chancery offices were on one solution and all the parishes, schools, and cemeteries were all on a different solution – leading to struggles around financial transparency, consolidated reporting, and highly manual processes.
