Atlanta – Dec. 18, 2018 – Sage (FTSE: SGE), the market leader in cloud business management solutions, today announced that Mark Janek, CFO of Sage Intacct customer, Energy Distribution Partners (EDP), is the recipient of the Finance Executives International (FEI) 2018 Chicago CFO of the Year Award. Since joining as CFO, Mr. Janek has overseen 15 acquisitions, been a key part of raising $100m in funding, and managed five-fold growth using Sage Intacct’s cloud financial management software.
The award, bestowed by the Chicago Chapter of FEI, honors senior financial leaders who have made significant contributions to a business or non-profit in the Chicago area. Mr. Janek was named winner in the Mid-Size Private Company category.
Mr. Janek joined EDP in 2014 as the company’s CFO. Recognizing that the company required new back-office technology to support ongoing and scalable growth, Mr. Janek, with the help of Sage partner Armanino, leveraged Sage Intacct, a solution available on Sage Business Cloud, to improve EDP’s internal processes and controls.
Using these technological and operational enhancements to increase lender and investor confidence, EDP was able to raise over $100 million in capital to support the company’s acquisition activities, which are foundational to its ethos. Now the 15th largest propane distributor and retailer in the US, and five times the size from when Mr. Janek joined the organization, EDP is about to complete its 20th acquisition.
